2 Service / Spare Parts:
    • 2.1 Who is responsible for service ?

First contact of customer is our sales and service network (f.e. distributor). First level support has to be realized due to our MTU service network. If furthermore support is necessary following contact persons have to be contacted:

First contact of customer is our service network (f.e. distributor). The comissioning has to be realized due to our MTU service network. If furthermore support is necessary the above mentioned contact persons have to be contacted, please note 1.1.

    • 2.3 Which document for comissioning has to be used ?

Comissioning documents of Northern Lights (NLI) has to be used and additional our MTU cover sheet. The documents has to be send to MTU Friedrichshafen and additional to Northern Lights.
After comissioning the information has to be add into the MTU ASO data bank.The e-mail address is included in the commisioning table.  asodb-pwm@mtu-online.com

    • 2.4 Where can I get spare parts?

    • 2.5 Are there any spare parts packages available ?

Yes, spare parts kits are available from Northern Lights. Northern Lights offers both, a “Standard Spare Parts” kit with basic repair parts as well as a “World Class Spare Parts” Kit to outfit for longer voyages. Northern Lights is also able to custom build Spare Parts Kits per the customers request. For more information, contact Northern Lights.     • 2.6 Are there any recommendations according to class societies available ?

Yes, spare part kits are available also per classification society rules or customer (end user) needs. It is very common to provide a spare parts kit with the MTU branded gensets..

    • 2.7 Where can I get spare parts price lists?

Spare parts lists are available from Nothern Lights, Inc., please contact therefore Conor McKillop.

    • 2.8 Is there a 24/7 hotline available?

Not on Northern Lights, Inc. side – please use therefore the link on the MTU branded homepage – or contact Conor McKillop, directly.

 

3 Warranty
    •  3.1 Who will be in charge for Warranty Claims?

Warranty has to be claimed directly from the service dealer with Northern Lights,Inc., please note contact person 1.1.
The received registration-card (click here to download) has to be filled out and send to Northern Lights, Inc. after commisioning.

    • 3.2 What is the standard warranty on NL Gensets ?

    • 3.3 Can I buy an extended warranty?

Furthermore Northern Lights are able to offer an extended warranty to MTU Distributors at 3% of the net selling cost per year of additional warranty needed. It could be offered as an option in the quotation.

 

4 Product Informations:

 

    • 4.1 Are all gensets suitable for emergency operation?

No. Stand alone emergency gensets are available from 33 kW upt to 165 kW. Please note therefore the Procuction Selection Guide.

    • 4.2 Which class certificates can be supplied?

Certificates from major class societies are available on request. Currently ABS, LRS, DNV and BV are available (not for the whole product portfolio). For details, please contact Conor McKillop, note also 1.1.

    • 4.3 Which Voltage is available?

Generators can be offered up to a max. Voltage of 600 V. If you need furhter details please contact our contact person of Northern Lights.

    • 3.4 Can I use “Commercial” gensets also for Yacht application and vice versa?

Commercial Gensets are technically also suitable for Yacht application and vice versa. Nevertheless product features and pricing may not match with the sub-application specific requirements. The two different product lines have different product requirements. Please note therefore also our product informations on the Business portal or on the MTU branded homepage.

 

5 Training:
    • Are service training at MTU available ?

     Currently no detailed training of MTU branded generators at the MTU training center is available.
     In connection with a training of main engines at the MTU training center, we are able to support our customers and service organization with further product information of the MTU branded gensets (f.e. technical documents).
     Northern Lights offers service training for MTU sales/service organization if required. Assistance for first contact, please note contact persons, above mentioned 1.1.

6 Order handling

 

    • 6.1 Where I can get an offer ?

    • 6.2 Is itI allowed to sell MTU branded NL gensets without MTU main propulsion engines?

MTU branded NL gensets have to be sold only in combination with MTU main propulsion engines.
Except as otherwise agreed to Northern Lights and Tognum, in writing and in its sole direction, on a case by case basis.

    • 6.3 What is my discount?

The gensets will be offered from Northern Lights to you on net price base. No further discount will apply. In the master purchasing agreement between Northern Lights and Tognum America the discounts are defined.

    • 6.4 Where can I get price list ?

Please use for an quotation the available questionnaire in order to get a correct pricing for your inquired genset.
